Description
Made in Italy of ceramic and fused silica, Straight Back Crucibles are used to melt metals when casting, but especially for platinum because it withstands higher temperatures than other crucibles due to its thicker composition.
It is recommended that borax be melted into crucibles before first use to create a film that will minimize oxidation when melting. These crucibles should also be used with crucible holders for safety.
